Weekend of Bachelorhood

Wifey and AK went down to the WIC conference in ATL this weekend. Get all that? So I was left home alone with the Copper top. All in all I just sort of chilled. Friday I went for a good long run and when I got done was so tired that I didn't feel like doing anything but watch two star trek next gen episodes back to back. It was an awesome show where Picard has to track down Spock. But Spock is on Romulous trying to get the Romulons and the Vulcans to reach a peace accord. They're like the Hatfields and McCoys only related. So that was I figure a good use of my time.

Then saturday I mowed, then ran out of gas, filled up, then mower wouldnt' start. I've talked to obscene and my dad and we all seem to agree that its some sort of spark plug problem as everything else is in working order I'm just not getting any oomph. But I didnt' want to tinker with the mower all day so I just put it away and ran some errands then met up with Roe for the big Michigan Notre Dame game.

There's not really much to talk about there... not much of a game unfortunately.

Though no offense to the company I had at Hoppy's, but man I sat in that smokey bar from 1 till 6 watching football and when I left I smelled like an ash tray, which was expected, but my throat and voice were so coarse and soar that it felt like I had been chearing or yelling all day long... and we know that I wasn't since Notre Dame got spanked. I'm just not used to sitting in smokey bars for extended periods of time anymore.

Ironic Note:

I had rented Kill Bill vol 1 a few years back (whenever it came out) and watched a good deal of it but eventually turned it off when for some reason I reached my breaking point of viewing violence... well it was on TNT the other night so I thought, "well, I might be able to stomach the edited version more..." So i watched it and as it turns out I had pretty much made it to the end when I rented it, probably had 20 to 15 minutes left. So I watched it all on TNT and then I was curious (because it ends so abrubtly) and I wanted to see Vol 2. So after Hoppy's I went to Blockbuster... of course its rented out. I tried finding something else but as always that place never has anything good. Though i was half tempted to rent the Gingerbread Man starring everyone's favorite nut job, Gary Busey!... i think it could mark the comeback of mr Busey.

So I go home, dejected that they didn't have my movie and resign myself to watching football or whatever else is on... when all of a sudden.. VOL 2 is on TNT. So I watched it with glee especially since I didn't spend money on it. Though I must say the two movies (because they don't really go seperately) were a little disappointing. Taratino has his moments, his dialogue is typically his catchey cool, but overall I wanted even more of a homage to the 70s kung fu movies. I mean it had a lot of it in there, but it needed more, and not to an absurb point like the first one. Frankly we just need more really badly acted Kung Fu movies with some guy who is like Bruce Lee only better... say this man... or maybe this man
or dare I say it... this man!

This afternoon after church, I just sat on the sofa and enjoyed my last moments of bachelorhood by watching football and playing gameboy. I'm playing Metroid Hunters which is pretty amazing for a gameboy game. Though the stylus and controls are hard and take time to get used to, and then when you get used to it, it still takes a lot of effort and isn't something you could play in a car or on the go. But nevertheless its cool.
