I read this great article/interview on ESPN.com about Paul Byrd starting pitcher for the Indians and basically about how he lives his Christian life in the majors.
It was really refreshing to see someone so authentic in his discussion as well as someone really intelligent about his faith in the work place.
I'm really looking forward to getting a copy of his book when it comes out next year.

Posted by: bobw at October 18, 2007 08:39 AMYep, he did such a great job with his Christian witness by taking HGH.
You need to look at the dates at when he took it versus when it became illegal. Looks like he stopped taking it when it became illegal. Granted, the policy may be retroactive, I don't know.
Posted by: Chris T. at November 6, 2007 05:26 PMChris, no one knows when he stopped taking it, he last purchased right before MLB made it "illegal" or banned, considering it was already illegal. Basically he could have, and most likely did, bought a huge shipment right before it became officially banned by MLB.
The problem here is basically he took a drug he should not have because the purpose of the drug is for cancer patients and what not. Also though not banned by MLB it was illegal to take said drug.
SO irregardless of what MLB says he still broke the law which is not a good thing.
